Five Guys on New Years Eve Part 2

Was her ears playing tricks on her? Did Shelly actually hear Fortune's voice come out from that puppet.

Shelly blinked a couple of time and got water out of her ears but she didn't hear Fortune again.

"Shelly?" Freddy asked when he saw the startled look on her face, "Is something wrong?"

"Um yeah, everything's fine." Shelly lied, "Something was in my ear that's all."

"You sure?" Freddy asked, "I can ask Chica to make you, your favorite Sausage and Ricotta Pizza to make you feel better."

"Thanks, yeah I would like some."

With that Freddy left and went into the kitchen but still Shelly felt like something's wrong with that new Mariette. Ever since her recovery from Solaris and the death of Fortune, she's been having nightmares of the bloodthirsty god and the enemy turned savior. She also knew that when the sub sank near Hawaii, Fortune never made it out, the Thieves did but they were the kind that Shelly didn't want to see. But could it be possible that she survived the crash?

Now that she saw Mariette, she remembered back when she was human. When she was 6 she used to have black and white female life sized puppet she won at an arcade game. It was the creepiest looking thing she ever saw and she often wondered why the vendor at the arcade wanted to get rid of it so badly. Its whole body was black with black and white ruffles, while its face was pretty and had pretty curly black locks flowing from it.

She lost the puppet when the B.S.E occurred and to be honest it was the only thing that she really didn't miss when her home sunk.

"Here you go sweetie." Chica replied as she came in with a small sausage and ricotta pizza, "Hope this will make you feel better."

"Thanks." Shelly smiled.

"Shelly are you okay?" Kristoff asked, "You look distressed."

"I feel like I remember that puppet from somewhere." Shelly said, and then she told the others how she got the puppet and her interaction with Fortune and Solaris. "I feel like Fortune's come back from the dead."

"Do you really think a childhood puppet would be some sort of container for a dead rival?" Mistress Hand asked.

"That's what I'm fearing." Shelly said, "I hate to say this but after they set up the toy animatronics, we have to inspect them and that puppet."

"We're in the day shift." Cilan muttered, "How are we going to do that?"

"I think we going to right now." Mistress Hand said, "I was going to say this earlier but since you put it that way, the present night guard got sick with the flu and the manager asked if we can take his place from the 26th which is today all the way to the 31st."

"That should give us enough time to inspect these new animatronics." Shelly said, "And to think I'll never set foot in that office again."


After the restaurant closed and the new and old animatronics were in their places, the four friends put on their old uniforms which still fit and took their shifts.

The last time they were here was two day before Christmas Eve, they would never forget the time Freddy's older brother Perry and his friends tried to kill them a few days ago.

If it weren't for Shelly's quick thinking and singing they'd all be stuffed in suits instead of presents.

This time they focused on Toy Freddy and his friends and Mariette, they didn't keep an eye on Freddy and his crew because they knew that they wouldn't pose a threat.

Once the cameras were turned on and the lights and doors were up and running, the four observed the animatronics and made sure there was no movement.

"I can't believe we're back in the office." Shelly said, "To think that after Perry and his friends came, we'd never come back."

"Hey," Cilan said, "Since we're just observing, Shelly do you think you can sing a song for us?"

"Me?"

"Yeah I mean your last minute resort singing was really good." Kristoff said, "At least can we hear one song from you?"

"Okay. I guess." Shelly stammered, she loved singing but she often got stage fright when she had to perform in front of others, "Here goes."

She cleared her throat and started singing.


In the darkness deep so down and cold

Four heroes keep watch brave and bold

In watching animatronics that scare us heck

We're here to keep them in check.


We four were lonely, alone and sad

Of the lives so isolated that we had

But then we met on Christmas day

It's better than what we got in pay


A lost little mermaid

A valiant pokemon trainer

A sister of the hands

A fixer-upper ice harvester


All of us together as security guards

Fighting hard to beat the odds

And although all of us could use a hand

We'll get through this night I know we can


"Bravo." Everyone cheered.

"Thank you, thank you." Shelly said blushing.

True doing the nightshift was the last thing that they'd expect to do but at least the song gave them hope.
